Under the Mercy is Sheldon Vanaukens deeply personal account of his spiritual journey following the death of his wife, Davy. More than just a sequel to A Severe Mercy, this moving autobiography chronicles his struggles with grief, his drift from faith, and his eventual return to Gods grace.

Caught in the currents of the times, Vanauken strayed from his spiritual path but was gently guided back by divine nudges, including a pivotal rereading of C.S. Lewis. This awakening led him to embrace obedience once more, ultimately culminating in his conversion to Roman Catholicism.

A powerful testament to faith and redemption, Under the Mercy is a heartfelt record of one mans journey from darkness to lightan inspiring read for those who seek spiritual renewal.

Comparable to Newmans Apologia. Readers of A Severe Mercy will be excited at the prospect of reading this sequel. Those who loved one will devour the other. They will not be disappointed.
