Description:

• Arched plaque
• Madonna & Child design
• Bas-relief sculpted image
• Serenely colored on natural background
• Holy art for your sacred spaces

Our Lady holds the Christ Child gently and lovingly in this sculpted plaque. Graceful, arched design with serenely colored accents in pastel blue, rose and white, against a natural background. It is crafted in the method known as bas-relief, where the figures are raised above the primary surface of the plaque. An ancient technique for accenting the subjects of fine art, bas-relief is thought to have originated during the Florentine Renaissance to give primacy of place to important religious figures in sculpted art.
