About Our Product

This Traditional Buddhist Offering Butter Lamp is a sacred ritual vessel used to offer light as a symbol of wisdom, clarity, and the dispelling of ignorance. Handcrafted by skilled Nepali artisans, this elegant butter lamp stands 15cm in height with an 11cm diameter, a 7.5cm base, and an inner depth of 4.5cm. It is beautifully crafted with a white metal body and a brass liner, combining traditional Himalayan artistry with devotional significance. Ideal for Buddhist altars, meditation rooms, temples, and personal shrines, this offering lamp creates a serene atmosphere that encourages mindfulness, prayer, and spiritual reflection.

The Buddhist Butter Lamp holds profound importance in Tibetan Buddhist practice, where the offering of light symbolizes the illumination of wisdom and the removal of darkness, ignorance, and negative karma. Traditionally filled with butter or lamp oil, the flame represents the light of the Buddha's teachings, guiding practitioners on the path toward compassion and enlightenment. The brass liner is designed to hold the offering securely, while the elegantly shaped white metal body reflects centuries of Himalayan craftsmanship. Lighting a butter lamp is believed to generate merit, cultivate positive intentions, and create auspicious conditions for health, peace, prosperity, and the well-being of all sentient beings.

Introduction of Butter Lamp

In Tibetan Buddhism, offering a butter lamp is a deeply spiritual practice. The traditional process involves preparing a wick from pure cotton, cleaning the chalices with a dedicated cloth, and then washing hands with soap, specifically made from yak bone or plant-based soap. This entire process is a meditative spiritual practice that engages a person both physically and mentally, provided they understand and follow the established norms.
