Rare Hand-painted Queen Maya Devi Mandala:

The Antique "Queen Maya Devi Mandala" is a profound artistic portrayal that pays homage to Queen Maya Devi, the revered mother of Gautam Buddha.

At its center, Queen Maya Devi radiates a sense of serenity and grace, embodying her role as the vessel of enlightenment. Surrounding her, delicate lotus petals unfold, representing purity and spiritual growth. The mandala's vibrant colors mirror the spectrum of emotions and experiences that shaped her life.

Queen Maya Devi holds a significant place in Buddhist history as the mother of Siddhartha Gautama, who later became known as Gautama Buddha. One of the most iconic moments in the life of Queen Maya Devi is her divine conception and the miraculous birth of Siddhartha Gautama. According to Buddhist tradition, Queen Maya Devi dreamt of a white elephant entering her womb, symbolizing the conception of a divine child. This event is often depicted in Buddhist art and literature as a central theme.

In the depiction of Queen Maya Devi giving birth in the middle of the mandala, the scene carries profound symbolism. It represents the pivotal moment when Siddhartha Gautama, the future Buddha, entered the world. Queen Maya Devi is often depicted in a standing posture, holding onto a branch of the sala tree for support, as Siddhartha emerges from her side in a miraculous birth.

This depiction symbolizes the transcendence of worldly attachments and the birth of enlightenment. It represents the potential for spiritual rebirth and transformation inherent in every human being. The surrounding lotus petals further emphasize the purity and spiritual growth associated with this miraculous event.

Interestingly, Queen Maya Devi's birthplace, Lumbini, in present-day Nepal, has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It attracts pilgrims and visitors from around the world who come to pay homage to the sacred site where Siddhartha Gautama, the future Buddha, was born.

Queen Maya Devi's story is not only a testament to the divine potential within every individual but also a reminder of the sacredness of motherhood and the profound role of women in the spiritual journey. Through her courage, devotion, and unwavering faith, Queen Maya Devi embodies the timeless virtues of compassion, wisdom, and spiritual awakening.
