The Giotto Crucifix reflects the Franciscan spirituality of Christus Patiens, emphasizing Christs humility and sacrificial love.

Its striking palette of black, white, and red symbolizes death, purity, blood, and the Passion. Originally painted in 1288 and beautifully restored in 2000, the crucifix is housed in the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, founded by Dominican monks in 13th-century Florence.

Crafted in the traditional style of a Florentine plaque, this standing crucifix is perfectly sized for a tabletop, shelf, desk, nightstand, or other smaller spaces. Resting on an elegant octagonal base, it serves as a faithful and inspiring devotional piece and a daily reminder of Christs enduring love.
