"This prayer book is for soldiers, sailors, marines, coast guard, for all fighting forces at home and abroad - on land, on the sea, and in the air - and for civilians at home: for all who live in a world at war, that through our prayerful lives God may grant us victory and give to the world His peace and justice."
-- from the Introduction

This little pocket-sized prayer book is made up of reflections which it is hoped will provoke us to meditation and communion with God, so that we will not only speak to Him, but also listen to Him when He speaks to us.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen wrote this pocket-sized prayerbook during World War II for those who were fighting and dying on battlefields afar. He hoped it would help them put on the armor of God as they faced their new trials, both physical and spiritual. Archbishop Fulton Sheen's prayers are just as meaningful today as our country fights in many foreign lands.

The Appendix includes a list of the 10 Commandments, prayers and hymns for Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, and a short biography of Archbishop Fulton Sheen.
