Description:

Each book of the Bible is a chance to encounter Christ, and every day of the year is an opportunity to seek him more deeply. In this edition of the ESV Bible, the ESV Beholding Christ Bible, 365 instructive readings from Nancy Guthrie are interspersed throughout the full Bible text, providing insight on how the passage uniquely reveals the person and work of Christ.

Drawing upon her years of experience as a Bible teacher and her passion for seeing Christ in all the Scriptures, Guthrie provides a fresh introduction to each book of the Bible that provides guidance on key themes to watch for in the book and ways the book enables the reader to behold Christ. Each of the 365 daily reflections begins with a statement about Christ that arises from the text. Then Guthrie explains unfamiliar characters, events, and cultural realities; draws out biblical-theological themes; and emphasizes how the chapters fit into the larger story of redemptive history. She then lists key words and ideas to look for as you read through the Scripture passage, as well as encouragement in how to respond in prayer, personal examination, meditation, and worship.

The ESV Beholding Christ Bible will help you read through the Bible in its entirety with a better understanding of what youre reading and a greater focus on how it reveals the beauty, necessity, and sufficiency of Christ.
