Most people have a best friend whom they favor above all others. For Prophet Muhammad, his best friend was Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (R). Abu Bakr was the first person, aside from the Prophet's own wife, to embrace Islam and believe in Muhammad (SAW) from the moment he declared his Prophethood. Abu Bakr (R) remained by the Prophet's side and did not hesitate to spend his wealth for the sake of Islam and the Muslims. Although the Prophet's Companions acknowledged his superiority, he remained humble and sincere towards all. This is the story of Abu Bakr (R) and his rise to the leadership of the Muslim Ummah.
